How do I mix in my songs from iTunes?
On the "Now Playing" screen there is a musical-note icon next to the shuffle button.
Can I individually control the iPod volume level?
Due to limitations in the iPhone software itself, iPod volume can only be controlled using the device volume (the side button). Unfortunately, adjusting this button also affects the overall volume of the app so a loud sound will drown out a weak Ambiance sound.
What happened to the old version of Ambiance!
The old version of Ambiance has been repackaged as "Ambiance Classic" and is available in the app store.
Can this run in the background while I do other things on the iPhone or iPod?
Currently, Apple prohibits 3rd party applications from running in the background. You can, however, access your iTunes library through Ambiance to mix your own music with Ambiance.
Ambiance takes forever to sync... what can I do to speed it up?
Try deleting some of the sounds you will never listen to to make the app smaller.
I can't hear anything!
Make sure that both the device volume and the Ambiance volume are up. Sometimes other Applications (Enigmo, Pandora) will change the volume setting after using their app. Double check that both volumes are up. PLEASE NOTE: The side button on the iPhone controls both the ringer volume and the device volume. If the side button is pressed while Ambiance is stopped mode, it will only adjust the Ringer Volume. You need to put Ambiance in "play" mode, then adjust the device volume.
Can I use these sounds for my ringtones or iPhone alarm?
No. Apple does not allow access to the ringtones. You can go to freesound.org and find many of the sounds there.
Can I use my own music or sound effects in Ambiance?
Yes! On the "Now-Playing" screen, simply tap the musical note icon.
Will I be charged for the update?
If you are upgrading Ambiance, you will NOT need to re-purchase the app. If you do not already own "Ambiance", or you own "Ambiance Lite" you will be charged to purchase "Ambiance"
Can I re-download without paying again?
Yes. If you go through the motions of "purchasing" Ambiance again, iTunes will recognize that you have already paid and not charge you again.

Most likely yes. Please let us know about any clicks you hear by flagging the sound or contacting us from the "Help" tab.
Can you add the sound of a ______?
Yes! Send Urban Apps an email with the request and if we can get a quality version of it, we will try add it.
Why on earth would you put the sound _________ in here?
Every sound included in the app has been requested by an Ambiance Customer. You can request something too! If we can find it, we will put it in the app!
Where do you get the sounds from?
Some of the "Ambiance Exclusive Sounds" have come licensed from www.soundrangers.com. Others have been licensed from various audio vendors, user-submissions, or compilations made from several different sounds. We have never gone outside with a microphone.
Ambiance won't work or open!
Sometimes a bad install from Ambiance or another app will do that. Try powering off and on your device. If that doesn't work, try removing Ambiance and any other apps that you installed after Ambiance, then reinstall Ambiance on the device.
Can you add video to the app?
Maybe in the future... for now, no.
Can you remove the "hiss" on _____?
On many of the sounds, what appears to be a "hiss" is actually a breeze. Most of the sounds have been cleaned up by a professional to remove hiss. That being said, if one was missed, see the next question.
